Maple Bourbon Café Au Lait Recipe

Warm, comforting, and just a little indulgent, this Maple Bourbon Café Au Lait is a delicious way to treat yourself. Made with Lancaster County Coffee Roaster’s Maple Bourbon coffee and a hint of real maple syrup, this drink is perfect for mornings or as a cozy evening beverage. Our Maple Bourbon Coffee is a fall seasonal flavor, available September 1 - November 30.

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. hot brewed Lancaster County Coffee Roasters Maple Bourbon coffee
  • 6 oz. oat milk (or milk of choice), frothed
  • 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup (or more, to taste)
  • Optional garnish: a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Brew the Coffee
Prepare 4 ounces of Lancaster County Coffee Roasters Maple Bourbon coffee. Its warm, rich flavor is the perfect base for this café au lait.
  2. Froth the Milk
Heat 6 ounces of oat milk (or your preferred milk) until steaming but not boiling. Froth the milk using a frother, whisk, or blender until it’s light and airy.
  3. Combine Coffee and Milk
Pour the hot coffee into a mug, then slowly add the frothed milk. The creamy milk and bold coffee create a balanced, delicious café au lait.
  4. Sweeten with Maple Syrup
Drizzle 1–2 tablespoons of maple syrup on top of the frothy milk. Stir gently to combine, or leave it on top for a layered presentation.
  5. Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg on top for an aromatic finishing touch. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Pro Tips:

  • Customize Sweetness: Adjust the amount of maple syrup to match your preferred sweetness level.
  • Frothing Without a Frother: If you don’t have a frother, shake the heated milk vigorously in a sealed jar or whisk it until frothy.
  • Chilled Version: For a cold treat, serve the coffee over ice and use cold-frothed milk. The maple syrup and bourbon still pair beautifully!
  • Elevate the Flavor: Add a tiny pinch of salt to the maple syrup before drizzling to enhance its sweetness.

This Maple Bourbon Café Au Lait is a cozy, customizable drink that feels like a warm hug in a mug. Perfect for chilly mornings or relaxing nights, it’s a versatile recipe you can enjoy anytime.
