• If you like trying something a little different, the AeroPress is worth a spot on your counter.

It’s a simple, lightweight brewer that uses a bit of pressure and a quick brew time to make a clean, flavorful cup without much fuss.

  • Supplies

    • AeroPress Original
    • AeroPress filters
    • 18 grams coffee per serving
    • Water kettle
    • Digital scale
    • Drip grind coffee
    • Optional: grinder

  • Step 1

    PREPARATION

Heat your water to 185 degrees or boiling.

    • TIP: Use filtered water to allow your coffee’s true flavor to shine through. Learn more here.

    Separate plunger and set aside.

Insert paper filter into filter cap and wet filter, to get rid of any papery taste.

  • Step 2

    WEIGH & GRIND

Grind coffee to consistency of sand. If you are purchasing ground coffee, choose "drip grind."

Set the top of the AeroPress, on a scale then tare your scale so you’re starting from zero.

Weigh out 18 grams of coffee

Give the brewer a light tap to level the coffee bed, just to even things out.

This is the last activity you will complete using the digital scale. Remove the AeroPress for the remaining steps.

  • Step 3

    STIR AND BREW

Add water up to the "4" mark on the side of the AeroPress.

Stir gently with paddle for about five seconds.

Then quickly insert plunger about a half an inch to create a vacuum. Wait sixty seconds before proceeding.

  • Step 4 - Hot Coffee Version

    PLUNGE

Place your cup gently under the inverted AeroPress.

With your cup underneath, start your press: slow and steady. There will be pressure, but don't push too hard. Let it move slowly.

If the plunge feels like a workout, your grind’s probably too fine. If it drops too easily, try a coarser grind next time.

Lift off the AeroPress and you’re ready to enjoy.

    ENJOY!
  • Step 4 - Iced Coffee Version

    FLIP AND PLUNGE

Placed the AeroPress about over a cup of ice.

Start the press: slow and steady. There will be pressure, but don't push too hard.
    Let it go slowly.

Lift off the AeroPress and you’re ready to enjoy.

    ENJOY!
